Leading Through Adversity

Yesterday was an incredible day, but it did not start out that way. We were setting up for our second service ever at our new location in Camden County, GA. The previous week, Celebration Church Camden County, got off to an amazing start with great worship, an awesome message, and people getting saved. We were all thrilled to see what God was doing in this community. I serve in the Worship ministry at church and play Bass in the band; something I'm very passionate about. After the first service, our keyboard player made the remark, "It can only get better from here." She was wrong! As we were setting up and going through the sound check process we realized that several channels of the sound system were not responding. Our brand or high energy worship depends on the sound system working and it wasn't. When we realized there was no way we were going to get it working in time for the service, we had a choice. We could get stressed out and point fingers, which is what the enemy wanted us to do, or we could band together and unite even more behind the purpose of lifting God up through our worship. Many of us have been at Churches where the enemy has a stronghold in the area of people's egos. People begin to think that the service is somehow about them. This line of thinking can really get in the way of what God wants to do. We made the decision that this service wasn't about us, and we would give God the best that we had. We would not blame the sound man or anyone else, we would choose to glorify God the best we could. And He showed up! The service was awesome, even though from a human perspective the sound wasn't the best. After the service several of our friends came over for lunch and fellowship. Midway through some of the girls felt led to pray, and then proceeded to have an incredible time of Spirit-led intercession and prayer. The worship of God is the invitation of the Holy Spirit, and if we are unified behind this purpose, and do not allow the enemy to distract us, amazing things will happen!

  1. Amen! I enjoyed the service and could truly feel that God was there and YES, we had a wonderful time of prayer. The air in the room was thick with the Holy Spirit!
